PS Solutions expands their “e-kakashi” agricultural IoT platform Project the latest example of how Ericsson and PS Solutions are developing IoT possibilities in Japan New “e-kakashi” platform premieres at AGRI WORLD 2017 in Tokyo, from October 11 to 13 Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), PS Solutions Corp., affiliated with SoftBank Group Corp., and CKD Corporation, a supplier of actuation products, are collaborating on an update to “e-kakashi”, a platform which applies artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) technologies into agricultural processes. First introduced by PS Solutions in 2015, the second-generation “e-kakashi” platform will launch in March 2018. Singtel and Ericsson to launch Singapore’s first 5G Center of Excellence

Singtel and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) will jointly establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) to facilitate 5G development and deployment in Singapore. 5G, the next-generation mobile network technology, is expected to roll out globally from 2020 and will deliver massive connectivity, ultra-low latency, gigabit speeds, and enable advanced applications such as smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality, and autonomous vehicles. Co-funded by Singtel and Ericsson with an initial investment of 2 million Singapore Dollars over the next three years, CoE aims to spearhead the development of Singapore’s 5G mobile network infrastructure to support future Smart Nation initiatives. It will also be open to Optus, and Singtel’s regional associates across Asia and Africa to encourage knowledge sharing within the Singtel Group. An integral part of CoE’s strategic goal is also to help industries and enterprises understand the value of 5G in transforming their business and the importance of shaping their long-term planning. Ericsson and Swisscom go live with Telco cloud

Ericsson Network Functions Virtualization infrastructure (NFVi) solution deployed to transform Swisscom’s Core network Enables Swisscom to address new market segments and capture business opportunities presented by 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) Ericsson’s full-stack telco cloud infrastructure now live with first cloud-based enterprise service for small and medium enterprises Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and telecommunications operator Swisscom are now live with a full-stack telco cloud infrastructure, with the first service assisting small and medium enterprises. The Swisscom cloud-based enterprise service is deployed on Ericsson’s Network Functions Virtualization infrastructure (NFVi) solution, and went into commercial operation in September. The two companies will now begin to onboard other services to address further market segments and opportunities, while ensuring business continuity management and automation process evolution of live solutions. This latest news is a result of last year’s announcement from the two companies, where Swisscom selected Ericsson to transform its network infrastructure through the deployment of a full stack telecom cloud solution, including Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). Ronnie leten proposed as new Chairman of the Board in Ericsson. Kurt Jofs proposed as new member of the Board

Ericsson’s (NASDAQ:ERIC) Nomination Committee will propose Ronnie Leten as new Chairman of the Board of Ericsson. Between 1985 and 2017, Leten held various positions within Atlas Copco, being the company’s President and CEO 2009-2017. He is currently a board member in SKF, the Chairman of the Board of Electrolux and proposed Chairman of the Board of Epiroc, the part of Atlas Copco planned to be dividend out in 2018. Leten is a Belgian citizen, born in 1956, and holds a M.Sc in Applied Economics from the University of Hasselt, Belgium. Ericsson’s current Chairman of the Board Leif Johansson has previously announced that he will not make himself available for reelection at the 2018 Annual General Meeting. The Nomination Committee will also propose Kurt Jofs as new member of the Board. Jofs was responsible for Ericsson’s Networks business 2003-2008 and is currently the Chairman of the Board in Tieto.  Kristin Skogen Lund has notified the Nomination Committee that she will not be available for reelection. The Nomination Committee’s additional proposals will be published later, in conjunction with the notice of the 2018 Annual General Meeting at the latest.
