Background: Telecom service providers come to the cloud market having already adopted IT management best practices and security standards to become trusted providers of traditional IT outsourcing services, such as colo and hosting. But in these early days of cloud deployment, it is unclear whether enterprises will pay more for a standards-heavy, high-performance trusted cloud solution or whether they expect a new generation of cloud standards, aimed at delivering security and resiliency in the multi-tenant, dynamic, and non-geographic cloud realm, but at lower cost.
