3 Fishermen Survived from the Storm by Sending Distress Signal through Two-way Radio

At the end of August, there was a strong storm that wrecked 90 miles inland from the town of Tonala which put 3 fishermen in danger. Fortunately, since equipped with DMR portable radio they were able to make distress signal by pressing the emergency button which allowed the Committee for Prevention and Citizen Participation of Puerto Arista to rescue them based on the global positioning system. The DMR portable they used turned out to be Hytera PD70XG.

Back to last year in Mexico, several fishermen lost their lives in a big storm. The tragedy warned the Risk Management Secretary so they asked a local Hytera dealer for a communication solution which they could monitor the location of fishermen and also that if they were in need they were able to communicate with a central point. The local dealer offered Hytera digital radios and a GPS solution, in this case SafeSYT. The government was pleased with the demo and then ordered 100 PD70XG, 1 repeater and SafeSYT, and prevented the tragedy from happening again.

The successful rescue has again enhanced the crisis consciousness among local fishermen. The Risk Management Secretary will be getting more Hytera digital radios for them as they all fully understand the importance of life-saving communication when being at emergency situations.
