4G Americas Welcomes Intel to Board of Governors

BELLEVUE, Wash. – 4G Americas, a wireless industry trade association representing the 3GPP family of technologies, today announced the election of Intel Corporation to its Board of Governors. Intel will join leading service providers and manufacturers to foster the advancement and full capabilities of LTE and LTE-Advanced technologies throughout the ecosystem’s networks, services, applications and wirelessly connected devices in the Americas.

 

Chris Pearson, President of 4G Americas, welcomed Intel’s election to the 4G Americas Board and commented, “We have long appreciated the significant contributions of Intel in the wireless industry and are pleased to have them as distinguished members of our Board of Governors. Moving forward in the evolution of mobile broadband beyond LTE-Advanced will be a key area for all our Board of Governors visionaries.”

4G Americas’ Board of Governors members include: Alcatel-Lucent, América Móvil, AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Cisco, CommScope, Entel, Ericsson, HP, Mavenir, Nokia, Openwave Mobility, Qualcomm, Rogers, Sprint, T-Mobile USA, Telefónica, and now Intel.
