• Vendors will gain access to a global audience of registered customers

ABB today announced that independent software vendors will now be able to participate in the ABB Ability Marketplace global e-commerce platform, giving solution providers greater customer visibility and reach.

The ABB Ability Marketplace is an online portal which allows companies worldwide in segments like discrete and process manufacturing, utilities, renewables, and transportation to view and purchase from ABB’s extensive portfolio of digital solutions and services. With this announcement, ABB is for the first time inviting third parties to promote their solutions on the portal.

“The ABB Ability Marketplace offers customers access to hundreds of online tools, products, and services from ABB, serving an array of market segments. We are now extending this by onboarding software vendors whose tools, services and products complement our existing portfolio,” said Anton Kotov, Head of Strategy & Business Development for ABB Electrification. “This is a huge step that allows us to collaborate with the brightest minds in the industry and help our customers tackle the challenges they face. Participating in the marketplace will also allow independent software providers to tap into the strength of our ecosystem.”

The e-commerce platform allows customers to discover, buy and manage solutions available on a software as a service (SaaS) basis, already including flagship offerings like ABB AbilityTM Genix, ABB AbilityTM Energy Manager and ABB AbilityTM Digital Powertrain.

Expanding the ABB Ability Marketplace will give customers greater access to a wider variety of software services, consumed either as a perpetual license or via subscription. In return, new software vendors will benefit from instant access to an active, engaged global customer base, enabling them to increase their reach and sales potential.

ABB is particularly encouraging solution providers focused on software design, service and optimization of electrical systems that drive sustainability, reliability, and safety to join. Types of software applications and online services will include electrical design, calculation and simulation tools, data management for building information modelling (BIM), sustainability audit and reporting, and safety and security trainings.

Joining the marketplace is simple. ABB experts will guide vendors through the process, taking time to learn the goals and desired level of activity, and providing support and guidance throughout to give the best chance of success.
