Kapsch CarrierCom France opens its new headquarter: globally important development center for mobile access for Public Operators & Railways in Montigny.

 

France is one of the most important markets for Kapsch CarrierCom. The company employs about 165 employees in France and is planning to expand up to 175. Kapsch CarrierCom France is also operating one of the most important Competence-Centers of the company – the globally important development center for mobile access for Public Operators and Railways is located in Montigny.

 

“Due to the high significance of the French market and the extraordinary Know-How of our employees in France, Kapsch CarrierCom has decided to relocate its French headquarter to a new office in Montigny. The company has invested more than seven million EUR in the new office. The inauguration of the new office and the continuous investment in France show the significance of this market for Kapsch”, said Kari Kapsch, member of the board of Kapsch Group and CEO of Kapsch CarrierCom, who has opened the new headquarter of Kapsch CarrierCom France together with Michel Clement, Kapsch CarrierCom’s GSM-R Vice President. Kapsch CarrierCom is a leading company for GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications-Railway) on the global market. Latest big contracts again reflect the importance of the French market: Kapsch CarrierCom will deliver roughly half of the GSM-R network for the French railway. The EUR 180 million order was awarded last year by the largest Public Private Partnership in France, called Synerail, which is a consortium consisting of Vinci, SFR, TDF and Axa. Besides the railway sector, Kapsch CarrierCom has an excellent long term relationship with the public operators Orange and Bouygues in France.

Research and development are of high interest and importance to Kapsch CarrierCom. The company is investing continuously in research. More than 400 employees worldwide are dealing with R&D. All of the above reflect how important innovation is for the company. Due to the significance of the French market, Kapsch decided to operate a development center for mobile access for Public Operators and Railways in Montigny, which achieves globally substantial results in the development of GSM/GSM-R/GPRS/EDGE Access products. On an area of 1.800m², platforms and laboratories support the Kapsch CarrierCom customers’ network evolution.
