eCommerce payments and fraud experts meet to shape the future of the industry

WorldPay’s first-ever [re]THINK [e]COMMERCE conference brings together 200+ thought leaders in Budapest

London, 31st May 2012 – WorldPay, the global leader in payment processing, risk and alternative payments is hosting the inaugural [re]THINK [e]COMMERCE event in Budapest, joined by world-renowned payment and fraud experts to discuss the latest developments in the eCommerce industry.

The conference, taking place on 11-13th June 2012, will be facilitated by Jasmine Birtles, finance and business expert. The agenda includes presentations from some of the world’s largest merchants including: British Airways, Skype, eBay and Expedia, and a Q&A on global card schemes with panellists from Visa, MasterCard, American Express and China UnionPay.

Despite the challenging global economic climate, eCommerce continues to grow and evolve rapidly. The opportunity for global merchants is vast in mature and emerging markets, and new technology is creating a new generation of ‘always-on’ shoppers. However, the opportunity also brings challenges including the fast growing number of alternative payment options and fraud prevention and payment security. The [re]THINK [e]COMMERCE conference will bring together experts within the industry to discuss the opportunities, challenges and future of commerce in the electronic age.

Floris de Kort, CEO eCommerce, WorldPay comments: “The eCommerce industry has evolved at an incredible pace globally. The purpose of the [re]THINK [e]COMMERCE event is to bring together the leading experts in the payment and fraud industry to discuss not only the opportunities but also the challenges that exist within the eCommerce industry, and how merchants are tackling these. The conference will be a chance to share ideas and opinions, and WorldPay is delighted to be hosting what will hopefully become a regular fixture in the calendar.”

Jasmine Birtles, finance and business expert, comments: “eCommerce is bucking the downturn trend, and developments in technology and the growth in emerging markets is creating a wealth of opportunities for merchants globally. I’m excited to be invited to facilitate the event and hear the views of some of the leading experts in the payment and fraud industry. It looks set to be a great event.”

The agenda for the conference includes:

• POS and eCommerce convergence

• Formulating winning mobile strategies in a B2B/B2C environment

• Preventing consumer and affiliate fraud: lessons learned from the high risk sector

• The changing face of social commerce

• A journey through the Alternative Payments landscape
