Accedo Reveals the Future of Video UX at IBC 2016

Stockholm, Sweden, 31st August 2016 – Accedo (http://www.accedo.tv/), the video experience pioneer, today announced it will be presenting Accedo Cream™, the Company’s new, advanced video user experience (UX) concept for Video On Demand (VOD) experiences at this year’s IBC.

Accedo Cream ™ combines the simple, elegant user interface of traditional linear TV with the power of choice and personalisation offered by VOD. On a high-level Cream enables viewers to watch virtual, linear video channels, instead of browsing for specific pieces of content. The user experience is focused on associative content discovery, while providing video viewing with limited distractions and intuitive interaction.

“I believe that the VOD TV UX fails large consumer groups because of the assumption that more is always better, for everyone. On the other hand, linear TV has very limited opportunity for interaction and personalisation and is clearly too limited to make use of modern capabilities of video content discovery and consumption,” commented Niklas Björkén, Innovation Director, Accedo. “Accedo Cream™ addresses the sweet-spot in the middle where viewers benefit from the added value of VOD, whilst keeping the simplicity of a linear experience.”

“At Accedo, we take pride in helping our customers transform the video experience. We believe that consumer expectations of a good video UX change over time. At the same time, it is clear that different consumers show different levels of maturity in accessing modern video services,” said Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo. “Not all users have the same preferences or needs, so being able to dynamically adapt the user experience for different user segments is key to capturing a wider audience. We’re convinced that the future must be a differentiated user experience and all of our products and solutions support such a future. Accedo Cream™ is an example of an attractive UX for certain customer groups and will improve service satisfaction and usage for those users.”

Accedo will be demonstrating all its innovations on its Stand, 14:E14 at IBC 2016. Accedo Cream™ will also be presented as part of the Content Everywhere Demo Hub at 11am on 11th September.

About Accedo
Accedo (http://www.accedo.tv) is a trusted video experience transformation pioneer improving the lives of video consumers by the hundreds of millions.
Over the years, Accedo has earned the trust of over 350 of the world’s leading video service providers – customers to whom two goals are paramount: explore new opportunities to monetise video and transform video services to meet rapidly changing consumer expectations. Accedo customers include: global video service leaders like Netflix, NBC Universal, Spotify, Fox, Disney, Telefonica and HBO, among many others.

The company was founded in 2004 on a simple observation: emerging technologies will transform how people watch television and consume video, but video service providers will struggle to keep up with the complexities of the new landscape.

This insight led Accedo’s founders Michael Lantz and Fredrik Andersson to create a portfolio of experience-centric video solutions that: shorten time-to-market, improve operational agility and boost monetisation capabilities.
The company has grown 1000% in 5 years, with 2000 video experience deployments. From 16 offices around the world.
