Acision Boosts Engineering and Enterprise Executive Leadership to Accelerate Messaging Services Strategy and Increase Value in Mobile Ecosystem

READING, UK – 8th August 2013: Acision, a global leader in mobile messaging, today announced two new appointments to its executive leadership team.  Jim Saunders has joined Acision as its new Executive Vice President, Engineering, while Matt Cockett has taken on the position of Executive Vice President, Enterprise Services. These new additions to Acision’s management reaffirm Acision’s drive to accelerate the execution of its business strategy, which is focused on messaging infrastructure, big data and analytics, as well as commercial and enterprise services. It also demonstrates its continued  investment in further aligning the company to the fast-moving digital and mobile ‘over-the-top’ (OTT) world as it evolves it overall direction, innovation mind-set and growth path.  These appointments are part of Acision’s internal game-changer programme, and come off the back of its recently announced new Chief Executive, Adolfo Hernandez.

Jim is now leading Acision’s newly restructured Engineering division (formally R&D), and is responsible for strengthening the company’s engineering operations playing a pivotal role in driving further opportunities for the business by bringing new, relevant products and services to market.

Working closely with JF Sullivan, EVP of Product and CMO, Jimwill drive greater integration and innovation within the Product and Engineering functions, to deliver superior quality products to market faster and to enhance the company’s competitive advantage within the industry.

Prior to Acision, Jim Saunders held the role Global Head of Capital Market Product Development at Misys, responsible for 600+ employees across the globe and leading the development of their four flagship products.  He moved into this role from Thomson Reuters RISK business, when it merged with Misys in 2012. Before that, Jim held product development and senior management positions at Cartesis, America Online and Netscape Communications.

Matt Cockett, who also recently joined the company, assumes the role of Executive Vice President, Enterprise Services.  Matt’s mandate is to spearhead Acision’s enterprise strategy and business development activities while enhancing operator and brand relationships. Additionally, Matt will lead Acision’s strategic relationship with mobile developer and interactive solutions provider, Soli in order to fast-track new opportunities for growth in mobile CRM and engagement.

Before his appointment to Acision, Matt held the role of Group Commercial Director at Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), a Sunday Times Tech Track 100 company, where he led the rapid growth of the company. He also spearheaded MIG’s drive into mobile operators and brands including EE, Vodafone, Skype, EA Games, New Look  and Barclaycard.  Matt was instrumental in the sale of MIG to Velti PLC at the end of 2011 and successfully launched MIG’s mobile web business, which now forms a core part of Velti’s technology portfolio.
