LONDON Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced the appointment of Wilfred Harbers as Regional Director for Benelux, and Cyril Reinhard as Regional Director for France. Wilfred has held a number of senior positions including Manager Presales and Marketing at Cordys, Principal at webMethods and VP of Product Strategy at SuperNova Software. Cyril has an established background in software, co-founding two organizations; C-Log International and Sowedoo Software. Most recently, Cyril served as Business Developer Manager of Government and Telco at Adobe Systems France.

“Wilfred’s and Cyril’s appointments are an important step in our European growth and we are delighted to have such talented industry professionals joining Acquia in Europe,” commented Jim Shaw, General Manager for Europe, Acquia. “Acquia is investing in the European market to ensure customers, partners and the Drupal community can apply Drupal with greater confidence and on an enterprise scale.”

Acquia recently announced its plans to hire 120 new employees to meet the demand for Drupal and Acquia services globally. Recent Series D funding has been used to accelerate growth, expand internationally, further invest in sales and marketing, and drive the adoption of Drupal-built websites.

Acquia has seen a huge rate of uptake across Europe within government organizations, media, entertainment and publishing sectors. In addition to teams in UK, Benelux and France, Acquia will be developing its presence elsewhere in Europe during 2012. Founded in 2007, the company currently has 200 employees.

“Joining the Acquia team at this stage in the company’s European market development is an exciting prospect,” said Wilfred Harbers, regional director for Benelux, Acquia. “Organizations of all sizes, in both the public and private sector, are increasingly turning to Drupal to innovate their social business, web content management, and their entire digital marketing strategy.”

“France has an extremely energetic and expanding Drupal community. It’s leading much of the world in the adoption of open source across multiple industry sectors from government to financial services,” said Cyril Reinhard, regional director for France, Acquia. “Acquia’s experience in assisting organizations and partners with requirements for scalability, reliability, portability and more will greatly expand Drupal’s success in the region.”
