Adax Cavium-based Packet Processing Controllers combine with Vineyard Networks to deliver unmatched intelligence and performance for Deep Packet Inspection.

Today’s network service providers expect LTE network nodes to extract extensive sets of metadata and application attributes from network traffic in real-time. This extraction enables a new generation of services including Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) and Over-The-Top (OTT) services, such as Video-On-Demand. The Adax Pkt-AMC and Pkt2-PCIe Cavium-based controllers provide front-end intelligent processing, delivering line speed packet processing for these demanding telecom applications across a range of platforms, such as ATCA blades, AMC cards or PCIe rack mount servers. The functionality of Adax’ controllers can now be extended by integrating Vineyard’s DPI engine,Network Application Visibility Library (NAVL).
NAVL is an advanced, next-generation DPI software engine that easily integrates into third party network infrastructure solutions, providing real-time Layer 7 classification of network traffic. NAVL uses a combination of deep packet and deep flow inspection techniques to accurately identify today’s most common applications including Mobile, Social Networking, P2P, Instant Messaging, File Sharing, Enterprise and Web 2.0 applications. This deep classification functionality is necessary to granularly set and enforce policies, provide parental control, conduct lawful interception and support on-line charging functions.
