Africa’s telecoms infrastructure to get a boost

by david.nunes

Africa’s current lack of telecoms infrastructure forms the foundation of why senior executives from across the globe and Africa, will meet up and discuss the way forward at the *Telecoms World Africa conference, taking place from 13 September in Cape Town, South Africa.

The conference will provide the ideal platform for senior executives to discuss, debate and challenge the ways to help Africa connect to the rest of the world. According to Simphiwe Tshabalala, Conference Manager at **Terrapinn, “African telecoms are emerging at such a rapid pace that it’s making the continent the newest global hotspot. And there is an increasing eagerness to invest and partner with emerging and established operators.”

The conference will draw on the expertise from Majoj Kohli, the CEO (International) and Joint Managing Director of Bharti Airtel in India. Kohli will address how the sector can access new business and capitalise on the ‘last’ untapped region of opportunity.

Attendees can also find out how the uniquely rapid uptake of mobile technology sets the region apart as a developing market, and what the impact will be on economic and business growth, from Stevan Hoyle, Director – Asia and Africa from Vodafone Global Enterprise in the United Kingdom.

The conference overall will focus on investment opportunities and growth potential in Africa’s telecoms sector and is not to be missed by all those involved in the finance, investment and telecoms market.

Covering a wide range of topics like connectivity, mobile evolution, broadband, technology and innovation, Africa’s wholesale market, finance and investment, infrastructure sharing and backhaul opportunities to regulation, *Telecoms World Africa will set the scene to ensure Africa’s telecoms infrastructure gets the boost it needs.

*Telecoms World Africa not only hosts over 200 key industry executives to debate the issues facing the market, it also forms the platform for great networking and future deals to be sealed.
