Agree or disagree? Telecoms employees’ loyalties lie with technology and not their employer

Does employee loyalty lie with their company or the technology they work with?

The market tells us that telecoms employees, whether freelancers, contractors or permanent staff, are more loyal to the technology they operate, often seeking to work on the most up to date releases, than they are to the company itself. This makes it challenging for hiring managers that don’t have the latest/hottest technology to attract and retain staff. In addition to this technology releases have a fairly dramatic impact on candidates’ careers.

Surveying the industry

Glotel is hosting a survey to question employees, contractors, freelancers and hiring managers on their thoughts about what attracts people to work for a telecoms organisation, why they stay there and how talent might be better managed.

We’ll make a donation to the DEC’s East Africa Crisis Appeal on your behalf for each survey completed*

The resulting report will tell hiring managers what attracts potential employees to their organisation, what encourages them to stay and how they might improve employees’ and freelancers’/contractors’ experiences during their tenure so that they can attract and retain the best talent more easily.

Employees, freelancers and contractors will learn what hiring managers look for in potential candidates for vacancies thereby helping them to secure work more easily in the future.

The themes of the survey are:

  • Your challenges (as a hiring manager or as an employee/freelancer/contractor)
  • The skills and attributes required to work in telecoms
  • Your thoughts on what will be the hottest topics in telecoms in 2012 and 2013

Get the report

Sign up for a copy of the resulting report at the end of the survey – the report will equip you with as much insight as possible about changing telecoms workplace issues, thereby helping you to better plan your career or better align your hiring strategies for the future.

Take the survey

Play your part in comparing and contrasting varying opinions from both hiring managers and employees (and help raise money for the DEC’s East Africa Crisis Appeal) by taking part in our survey*.

Best wishes
