Alcatel-Lucent and Maintrac selected by IP-Only to bring ultra-broadband fiber network to homes and businesses nationwide in Sweden
New Point-to-Point Ethernet network will provide wholesale services up to 1 gigabit-per-second
Stockholm/Paris, February 18, 2014 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext and NYSE: ALU) today announced that IP-Only, one of the leading independent wholesale broadband providers in the Nordic region, has selected its Point-to-Point Ethernet technology for a new fiber-to-the-premises (FTTx) network.
The network – to be built by Maintrac, Alcatel-Lucent’s channel partner in Sweden – will bring ultra-broadband access connectivity to homes and businesses across Sweden.
IP-Only will use the network to increase its market share in the wholesale market by leasing bandwidth of up to 1 giga-bit-per-second (Gbps) to regional media and services providers, government organizations and large enterprises throughout the country.
