Alcatel-Lucent’s 9500 Microwave Packet Radio connecting Lampedusa and Pantelleria across 147km

- Alcatel-Lucent has deployed a 147km-long high capacity (800Mbit/s), high-availability radio link – supporting a mix of IP and legacy traffic – from Lampedusa to Pantelleria using its 9500 Microwave Packet Radio.
- Alcatel-Lucent’s market leading microwave backhaul and transport technology helps providers to deliver ultra broadband services everywhere, providing a viable alternative to connect underserved areas where a fiber network is unavailable, and/or to protect existing fiber links.
