Andreas Helland Shows How to Cross the OTT ‘Chasm’ to Give Viewers a Great Experience
BERGEN, Norway — Sept. 8, 2011 — Andreas Helland, formerly head of online sports video at TV2 Norway and currently CFO at Vimond Media Solutions, will be at the IBC Connected World demonstration area on 10 September at 13:00 showing how OTT service providers can deliver a compelling experience to their viewers.
While at TV2, Helland was closely involved in the development of the Vimond online TV platform and its live Sports Center Application. TV2’s Sumo OTT service has been the recipient of multiple awards for the quality of experience it provides.
Helland suggests that the challenge of OTT services is a “chasm” that operators must cross successfully in order to generate viewer approval and growth. Helland will demonstrate the Sport Center in action, and discuss how TV2 negotiated sports rights for OTT content. Drawing on his experience from TV2, he will share an overview of the technical, editorial, and commercial benefits of the Vimond platform, and show how TV2 made commercial success in the sports segment of OTT.
