Major Chinese mobile operator selects Anite for its

TD-LTE device acceptance programme

Anite’s leading GTI test coverage enables manufacturers to accelerate device validation

Fleet, Hampshire, UK – 19 February, 2014 Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, today announced that it has been selected to supply additional device testing systems to a major Chinese mobile operator for its TD-LTE device acceptance programme. The selection follows several years of close collaboration between the two parties and is a direct result of Anite’s leading coverage of GTI* (Global TD-LTE Initiative) validated TD-LTE network simulator interoperability test scripts.

Anite was awarded the GTI Innovation Award last year for SAS, its interoperability testing solution which is used by leading mobile operators across the globe to accelerate device verification. The roll-out of TD-LTE technology and investment in the area of device testing has intensified as a result of China’s recent allocation of 210 MHz of 4G spectrum to the country’s three mobile carriers for the provision of TD-LTE service.

By using Anite’s device testing solutions, chipset and device manufacturers are able to accelerate market introduction of new TD-LTE products. When both the mobile operator and the device manufacturer use Anite’s lab-based test solutions consistent results can be achieved, resulting in reduced risk of device rejection and an accelerated market introduction. Lab-based device testing is quicker, more reliable and more cost-effective than device testing conducted solely in the field. Devices can be tested more accurately and rigorously through straightforward replication of a wide range of test scenarios specified by the mobile operator.

‘Working in close collaboration with one of China’s leading mobile operators demonstrates Anite’s pivotal role in one of the most exciting and rapidly growing global markets’, says Paul Beaver, Products Director at Anite.

* GTI was formed in 2011 by leading operators including China Mobile to create value for stakeholders across the TD-LTE ecosystem.
