Are organisations in the driver’s seat when it comes to innovation?

29 April 2013: Kcom and CIO Connect jointly hosted a roundtable event recently focusing on affordable innovation and the impact of the constant changing face of technology for businesses.

Neil Miles, Managing Director of Kcom’s sister brand Smart421 and Alastair Crane, CEO of Grapple Mobile led the discussion, which was attended by senior IT professionals from organisations such as Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, BUPA and British Airways. They explored what innovation means to them, as well as the challenges associated with adopting new technologies.

Neil said: “The roundtable was a good opportunity for CIOs and IT directors to discuss the sorts of challenges they’re facing, many of which are accentuated by the speed of technological change. There is clearly a greater expectation of what technology can do for businesses nowadays; there’s a lot of pressure to drive innovation and adopt new technologies whilst working with less budget than before. It was a great opportunity to look at technology as a business enabler and compare different approaches. Events like these are a really valuable opportunity to get together and share ideas.”

CIO Connect hosts regular roundtables to provide a platform for CIOs to come together, develop relationships and gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that they face.
