ARRIS Adds XMS FLEX Streaming Media Engine to ConvergeMedia™ On Demand Distribution Platform
Suwanee, GA – April 4, 2011: ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) today introduced the newest member of its ConvergeMedia Distribution platform: XMS FLEX, powered by a next generation Streaming Media Engine (SME). The ConvergeMedia XMS FLEX is a flexible, feature-rich, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server with SME scalable content delivery software to support the industry’s broadest range of video applications.
Service providers face several important challenges in transitioning to next generation services for IP-based, multi-screen video delivery. These challenges include the need for the highest performance and density at the lowest possible cost, the requirement for streaming resiliency to optimize availability, and the desire to deploy a single platform that supports the full range of video application.
