Artel Video Systems Integrates Video and Ethernet Routing and Trunking Into DigiLink Platform

New DigiLink DL4360x 12-Slot Chassis With Integrated Video and Ethernet Routing Now Available

WESTFORD, Mass. — March 6, 2013 — Artel Video Systems, a leading global provider of broadcast-quality video transport solutions, today announced the DigiLink DL4360x video transport chassis, the first video transport and processing chassis capable of routing video and Ethernet traffic in native format through a unique internal cross point.

By eliminating external cross connects while staying in native video or Ethernet format, the DL4360x streamlines routing and rerouting of video and Ethernet traffic, reducing operational expenses, and providing an ideal solution for remote sites where immediate or timely reconfiguration is required via EMS or NMS.

“The DL4360x addresses the complexity and latency issues that broadcasters, video service providers, and others in our industry traditionally face when routing video and Ethernet traffic,” said Richard Dellacanonica, president of Artel Video Systems. “By routing native video and Ethernet traffic through a simple, reliable, low-latency, internal cross connect, users can instantaneously reconfigure a chassis to address new requirements, eliminating the need for truck rolls or onsite personnel for most day-to-day operations. The release of the new chassis along with our continued development of innovative DigiLink function modules demonstrates our continued commitment to creating the most cost-effective, state-of-the-art, video-centric transport and processing platform.”

The DL4360x holds up to 12 DigiLink function modules and each slot is capable of routing 10 video, five Gig-Ethernet circuits, or any combination of both. Chassis monitoring and management are made simple via external status LEDs, a feature-rich HTTP interface, and SNMPv2 capabilities. Consuming only 3RU of space and operating fully loaded at less than 250W, the DL4360x is ideal for space and power constrained environments while its NEBS level 3 certification ensures reliability and cost-effectiveness over years of continuous service in less than ideal environments.

Artel Video Systems will demonstrate the DL4360x at the 2013 NAB Show, booth SU6318, April 8-11 in Las Vegas.
