LAS VEGAS—2013 NAB SHOW, Booth #SL9716—April 8, 2013—Aspera, Inc., creators of next-generation technologies that move the world’s big data at maximum speed, today announced the availability of the Aspera fasp Plug-in for Avid® Interplay® Delivery, enabling high-speed, secure transfers of file-based media and metadata between Avid Interplay Production workgroups for coordinated multi-site content creation.
Aspera now provides a complete, fully integrated high-speed transfer solution for the Avid Interplay Delivery service. Users can share full resolution media and associated metadata between remote Interplay Production workgroups across a wide area network (WAN) by transferring video and metadata at line speed, regardless of distance, fully utilizing the available bandwidth. The Aspera solution is optimized for maximum speed retrieval and storage of media clips on Avid ISIS® storage, with line speed WAN transfer at any distance, using the fasp3 transport platform and supports the complete check-out/check-in process required for coordinated transfers and collaboration.

The complete Aspera solution consists of an embedded Enterprise Server and the new Aspera Plug-in for Avid, which is fully integrated with the Avid Interplay Delivery service APIs. Users trigger full or partial transfers from within the Interplay user interface, and Aspera fasp software performs the high-speed transfer to the remote editing site. All Aspera encryption, privacy and bandwidth control capabilities are fully supported. Interplay Production then re-links the content at the destination for a completely seamless end-user experience.
