BICSI SIGNS WITH PEARSON VUE FOR COMPUTER-BASED TESTING

Tampa, Fla., Nov. 21, 2011 — BICSI, the association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry with information, education and knowledge assessment, is pleased to announce that it has signed with Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, to deliver BICSI’s eight credentialing examinations, including its cornerstone credential, the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).

The exams will be transitioned from paper-and-pencil delivery to computer-based testing and will be available globally throughout the Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center network of more than 4,500 sites in 165 countries. Computer-based delivery of the Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) exam will begin in February 2012, with the remaining exams to follow.

“We are pleased to be working with BICSI to deliver their credentialing programs,” said Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. “Our expansive test center network is ideal for IT certification programs, as it combines global reach and coverage with a secure testing environment. We look forward to working with BICSI to grow their certification program.”

“Moving our credentialing program from paper-based exams to computer-based testing is a major milestone for us,” said Brian Hansen, RCDD, NTS, CSI, President of BICSI. “Our partnership with Pearson VUE allows BICSI to utilize Pearson VUE’s global test center network to expand our credentialing program while providing a major benefit to our members and non-members alike.”

In addition to the RCDD and DCDC, BICSI will begin offering computer-based testing for the Registered Information Technology Professional (RITP), Registered Telecommunication Project Manager (RTPM), Electronic Safety and Security (ESS) Designer, Network Technology Systems (NTS) Designer, Outside Plant (OSP) Designer, and Wireless Designer (WD) credentials throughout 2012 and 2013.
