Boingo Wireless Launches Wi-Fi Service at Chicago’s Soldier Field

Historic Stadium Kicks Off End-Zone-to-End-Zone Wi-Fi in Time for the Holidays

LOS ANGELES – Dec. 8, 2010 – Boingo Wireless, the Wi-Fi industry’s leading worldwide provider of software and services, today announced it has launched Wi-Fi services at Soldier Field in Chicago as part of an exclusive deal with Soldier Field.  Soldier Field stadium is owned by the Chicago Park District and managed by SMG, a world leader in venue management, marketing and entertainment booking.


Boingo will provide retail Wi-Fi services throughout Soldier Field, including seating areas, premium suites, concessions, restaurant and hospitality areas. Guests can access the Internet on their smartphones, tablets, laptops and netbooks for high-speed access to the internet, email and more.

Soldier Field, hosts a variety of large and small national and international events, including professional football, international soccer matches, college football, festivals and concerts headlined by the most recognizable names in the music industry. The wireless Internet service is based on Boingo’s powerful neutral host roaming platform used in more than 59 airports, sports arenas and convention centers around the world.

Boingo Wi-Fi will offer guests at Soldier Field an intuitive, reliable and fast online experience. After connecting to the “Boingo Hotspot” SSID, customers will be redirected to a Boingo landing page – accessible on both mobile and laptop devices – with several Wi-Fi options including hourly and daily access, as well as monthly subscriptions. Existing customers who use Boingo’s access software can log on with a single click and bypass the web browser altogether.
