Brightstar Appoints Mark Shockley President of Brightstar

Former Motorola Executive Brings

Brightstar Global Sales and Operations Expertise

in the Wireless Industry

 

MIAMI and CHICAGO – July 6, 2011 – Brightstar Corp., a global leader in services and solutions for the wireless industry, today announced the appointment of veteran mobility executive Mark Shockley to president, U.S. and Canada. In this role, Mr. Shockley will oversee all of Brightstar’s operations in North America and will be responsible for continuing to grow the business in the region. Mr. Shockley will assume his new responsibilities at Brightstar on July 11, and will be located in Brightstar’s North American headquarters in Libertyville, IL. Mr. Shockley succeeds Denise Gibson, who is leaving the company for personal reasons.

 

Prior to joining Brightstar, Mr. Shockley served as senior vice president and general manager of global go to market for mobile devices at Motorola Mobility, Inc. In this role, Mr. Shockley oversaw all aspects of Motorola Mobile Devices’ global sales operations. During his more than 30 years at Motorola, Mr. Shockley played an instrumental role in driving improvements across Motorola Mobile Devices’ worldwide business while maintaining an intense focus on critical customer and partner relationships, and successfully led teams in Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio State University.
