Broadcast Pix Hires Fred van Elk as Director of Sales for EAME Region

Billerica, Massachusetts (January 10, 2011) Broadcast Pix™ announced today that Fred van Elk has been named director of sales for the Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) region, effective Jan 1. He replaces David Hughes, who has retired.

“The EAME region continues to be a growing market for Broadcast Pix,” explained Arco Groenenberg, vice president of sales for Broadcast Pix. “We are delighted that Fred has joined our team. With his knowledge of the industry and the region, he will be a great asset to Broadcast Pix, our dealers, and our customers.”

A veteran of the broadcast industry, van Elk began his career as an engineer for Canada’s Global TV. After he moved to Germany in the 1980s, he worked for a number of companies, including Grass Valley, Avid Technology and Ross Video. Most recently, he worked for the TDF Group (TéléDiffusion de France) selling playout capacity worldwide.

In his new position at Broadcast Pix, van Elk has already sold a Granite 5000 system to Turkmenistan TV, and expects to grow market share for the company in the region. “It’s a very compelling product line, and it’s easy for broadcasters and other video professionals to appreciate the quality and value,” he explained. “With so many built-in workflow tools, Broadcast Pix systems save money, save space, and save installation headaches. It’s a very innovative approach to live video production.”
