BroadHop Announces Four New Service Provider Wins

by david.nunes

Denver, CO — September 8, 2010 —BroadHop Inc., the industry’s deployment leader in policy management and control solutions for service providers, today announced that four international service providers have chosen BroadHop’s Quantum Network Suite, the industry’s first open and virtualized  policy management platform,  for next-generation mobile data, intelligent broadband, and application delivery.   Customers include mobile and converged network providers in France, India, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.  The company is seeing substantial demand for the Quantum Network Suite’s broad set of innovative policy based services and its advanced 3GPP® PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) capabilities.  In addition, BroadHop is announcing that it has now been deployed by 70 service providers serving 300 million subscribers in 30 countries.

Launched earlier this year, Quantum Network Suite provides the most powerful and flexible set of policy capabilities available in the industry.  Quantum Network Suite offers the scale to manage and resolve network congestion in the world’s largest networks and to accelerate the deployment of new applications and monetization of new services by a factor of more than 10x, when compared with the current generation of policy platforms.

“While there exists a very real need to continue to address bandwidth management in today’s market, we are starting to see that in addition to the well known Fair Use, bandwidth throttling, usage caps, and multi-service quota management scenarios, service providers are starting to show genuine interest in using policy to support application centric interactive services as a means for differentiation and delivery of greater quality of experience,” said Shira Levine, directing analyst for next gen OSS and policy at Infonetics Research.

Recent Quantum Network Suite wins include:

· A leading French telecom operator to extend its fixed broadband services to offer wireless broadband services.

· The largest broadband cable operator in India to manage converged broadband application services.

· A leading mobile communications service provider in Malaysia to scale up its mobile broadband network with compelling new pre- and post-paid application services.

· A top tier telecom carrier in Saudi Arabia to deliver converged broadband and wireless services, including innovative applications such as interactive, real-time parental controls.

Quantum Network Suite sets a new standard for policy management, one that enables service providers to finally combine the intelligence that is inherent in their networks with the deployment of new and compelling, high value applications and services.

“BroadHop is delighted to have been selected by forward thinking service providers from around the globe who recognize the tremendous value Quantum Network Suite’s open and virtualized platform affords them in exceeding subscriber expectations,” said William Diotte, president and CEO of BroadHop Inc. “Global service providers can count on Quantum Network Suite to manage the enormous number of sessions required by application rich smart devices and to accelerate the delivery of the innovative new services that are the key to service provider growth and profitability.”
