Broadpeak Launches BkA100 Video Delivery Analytics Solution for Operator Content Delivery Networks

RENNES, France — June 7, 2012 — Broadpeak, a leading provider of content delivery networks (CDN) and video-on-demand (VOD) servers for network service providers deploying IPTV, cable, and OTT services, today introduced the BkA100, a comprehensive video delivery analytics solution designed to streamline an operator’s CDN. The BkA100 enables operators to access key information located in the video streaming servers, providing the operator’s support team with critical system monitoring information, the operations department with capacity planning details, and marketing with the analytical results essential for building an effective marketing campaign. Broadpeak will launch the BkA100 at the 2012 ANGA Cable Show, stand 10.1/R34.

“The BkA100 perfectly complements Broadpeak’s existing +screensCDN and operatorCDN solutions, giving operators the video content delivery and analytics components that are crucial to delivering the best possible quality of service,” said Jacques Le Mancq, CEO, Broadpeak.

Built upon a highly scalable architecture, the BkA100 identifies important metrics, as well as the raw data necessary to compute them, and then provides a shared view of the material that can be accessed simultaneously by a virtually unlimited number of users. The BkA100 works by first centralizing the raw data in a variety of formats using adapted protocols. The system then computes key values depending on the specifics of the operator’s business. An intuitive graphical user interface displays sophisticated dashboards and graphs, which can be exported in a wide range of formats for archiving or immediate use.

The BkA100 provides valuable information for a CDN operator’s entire organization, enabling the different stakeholders to share and proactively analyze data. This in turn results in a higher quality of service (QoS). Using this information, the marketing team can monitor service deployment levels and accurately establish an audience taxonomy based on detailed geolocalization data. The BkA100 also supports the operator’s operations team in validating the dimensions of the system, performing capacity planning, checking the load of the system, and making proper investments related to the growth of the service or technology provider. In addition, the system helps an operator’s support team to more effectively troubleshoot issues, reliably detect points of contention, and justify key performance indicators such as QoS improvements.
