Bulgaria gets superfast broadband and new services with fiber to the home
Nokia Siemens Networks provides GPON technology to Bulgarian internet service provider EVO.bg
EVO Ltd, a leading regional Internet Service Provider in Bulgaria, has started offering higher bandwidth and new, high-quality data services such as IPTV, to its customers. The service provider is upgrading its network to increase capacity and provide improved services. Under a three-year contract, Nokia Siemens Networks is supplying its Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology for the upgrade.

Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks is supplying the customer premise equipment (CPE), providing EVO.bg subscribers the option to connect Internet and IPTV as well as legacy telephone services simultaneously. Nokia Siemens Networks is also supplying the Optical Line Termination Unit to consolidate all traffic from the CPEs and services such as installation and maintenance to the Internet Service Provider for the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure.
