Cable & Wireless Panama (CWP), the Panama business of Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC), has won a global award for employee engagement for the third year in a row. It is one of only 29 companies in the world to be named a Gallup Great Workplace in 2011.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award is organised by the Gallup consulting firm based on employee feedback from its Gallup Q12 survey. The survey is completed bi-annually by millions of teams in more than 150 countries. The survey rates the level of engagement within a workplace based on anonymous employee responses.
Only 10 per cent of companies involved in the survey programme meet the mandatory criteria to qualify for a Gallup Great Workplace award. To choose the award winners, Gallup compared results across its database then used a panel of workplace experts to review each organisation using quantitative and qualitative components.
CWP employs 1,800 people. It is the leading fixed line, mobile and broadband telecoms provider in Panama. CWP also provides a pay TV service and is a leading provider of social telecoms services (telecoms enabled public services) and managed services for enterprises. CWP was the only Latin American company to be named a Gallup Great Workplace in 2011.

CWC has undertaken the Gallup Q12 survey across its Group since 2007 as part of a commitment to measure and improve the quality and productivity of its workplaces.
