Tampa, Fla., Aug. 26, 2010—BICSI, the association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry with information, education and knowledge assessment, is in search of the best and most experienced ITS Installers and Technicians to compete in the 2011 BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge. Previous Challenges brought together top-notch participants from around the globe.
The Cabling Skills Challenge will take place on January 16-19 at the 2011 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Fla., at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. All BICSI-credentialed Installers and Technicians are invited to submit an application. Competitors will be selected based on qualifying criteria such as professionalism, quality of resume and work experience. An attempt will be made to equally represent all regions.
Competitors will be vying for the title of BICSI Installer of the Year. Prizes will be awarded and the grand champion will walk away with $5,000. Eligible applicants are urged to apply today—the deadline is November 1, 2010. Visit www.bicsi.org/skillschallenge to download an application form.
The 2011 BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge will include the following seven events:
- Event A: SCS Installation
- Event B: Copper Cable Terminations & Firestopping
- Event C: Fiber Termination
- Event D: Cable Assembly
- Event E: Cable Troubleshooting/Technical Support
- Event F: Competency Exam
- Event G: Professionalism/Orientation
