The number of ways to connect is growing and none faster than cloud computing. Cloud computing offers pay-as-you-go, provider managed, virtualised services using – more often than not – a fully distributed infrastructure architecture. It can be a public or private service. Companies look to cloud computing to reduce the capital and operating expense they have running their own dedicated data centres. Individuals will increasingly look to the cloud to provide a wide variety of sophisticated services on the thinnest client of all – the smartphone.
