Centrix Software Chooses Microsoft Azure to Host Cloud-based Usage Analytics Solution

– Azure’s scalability and global reach support Centrix Software with the growing demand for workspace usage analytics

Centrix Software, a workspace management expert and Microsoft Gold Partner, has adopted Microsoft Corp’s cloud platform, Microsoft Azure, to help address the growing demand for its application (app) and device usage analytics solution, WorkSpace iQ.

WorkSpace iQ addresses the increasing need for IT to apply business intelligence and analytics to the huge amount of IT usage data required to make IT strategy and project-related decisions. Anything from the desktop environment to apps and IT infrastructure, for planning, rationalization and on-going management objectives.

Delivery of the solution through the Microsoft Azure cloud platform means that Centrix Software’s customers and partners no longer have to procure or provide additional technical infrastructure and develop their own application management skills; cutting the costs and time it takes to start making decisions based on WorkSpace iQ’s unique usage analytics data.

The Microsoft Azure cloud platform delivers a trusted foundation for hosting and managing solutions, such as WorkSpace iQ, while allowing app vendors to deliver targeted, premium services to customers. Azure’s completely secure and highly available system (99.95% monthly uptime SLA) provides the ideal infrastructure needed for hosting each Centrix Software customers’ WorkSpace iQ instance in a highly available, infrastructure; with cloud technologies including automatic OS and service patching, built in network load balancing and resiliency to hardware failure.

Lisa Hammond, CEO at Centrix Software said, “With WorkSpace iQ, we’re committed to providing customers with rapid, secure and cost-effective access to the usage data, insight and intelligence they need to make informed app portfolio strategy decisions, on a daily basis. As a rapidly growing SaaS-based business, we needed a cloud provider with the capability to scale our service instantly, and who has a presence in all major geographic locations around the world. Microsoft Azure allows us to focus on delivering app and device usage analytics to all of our customers without worrying about the infrastructure.”

Lisa continued, “Our customers operate in a wide variety of markets – financial services, the NHS police forces and central government for example – and need to know that their systems are always available but are also completely secure. The Microsoft datacenters have 24 hour monitoring, security, patching and anti-virus controls, so we never have to worry about availability and security. In addition, WorkSpace iQ’s usage analytics is managed in a Microsoft SQL Server database, so it makes perfect sense to choose Microsoft as our hosting company – and Microsoft Azure for our cloud platform.”

Key features of WorkSpace iQ include:

·         Simple identification of app wastage and opportunities to streamline the app portfolio, while also facilitating strategic workspace planning

·         Desktop usage information showing which apps are really used, to optimize operating system migrations and desktop transformations

·         In-depth desktop virtualized environment analysis for right-sizing virtual infrastructure and delivering great user performance at minimum cost

·         User behavior analysis to plan which apps and users can easily move to the cloud, increasing user productivity and lowering app provisioning costs

·         Office productivity tool assessment to understand an organization’s readiness and requirements to move to the Microsoft Office 365 cloud-based productivity suite

Scott Woodgate, Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Azure explained, “With the rise of apps and the proliferation of bring-your-own-devices, businesses are facing many IT management challenges. Software companies such as Centrix Software are pivotal in the emerging workspace management transformation category. Tools such as Workspace iQ, built on Microsoft Azure, are providing Centrix Software’s customers with innovative ways to access essential IT business intelligence and usage analytics.”
