CFHP Course to be Offered at
Broadband Properties Summit 2011 in Dallas

WASHINGTON – A two-day session of the training course for the Certified Fiber to the Home Professional (CFHP) program will be conducted at the Broadband Properties Summit on April 28 and 29 at the Intercontinental Hotel Dallas, according to the Fiber-to-the-Home Council, a national organization dedicated to expanding the deployment of high speed all-fiber networks.

Certification as a CFHP, which can be attained through an exam administered through the FTTH Council’s website, indicates a professional level of technical competence in fiber to the home technologies, and consists of demonstrating knowledge and familiarity with FTTH architecture, network design, deployment technology and operational skills. Together, the preparation course and the exam address job training skills for those interested in making the jump from legacy technologies to the FTTH technologies of today and the future.

The two-day course, to be conducted in Dallas by the Council’s training partner The Light Brigade and at other locations during the remainder of the year, is aimed at management and supervisory staff of telecommunications providers, as well as technical support managers and administrators, design specialists, telephony and network engineers and administrators, CATV/IPTV engineers and administrators, advanced network engineers and administrators.

About the Fiber-to-the-Home Council
Now in its tenth year, the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council is a non-profit association consisting of companies and organizations that deliver video, Internet and/or voice services over high-bandwidth, next-generation, direct fiber optic connections – as well as those involved in planning and building FTTH networks.  The Council works to create a cohesive group to share knowledge and build industry consensus on key issues surrounding fiber to the home. Its mission is to educate the public and government officials about FTTH solutions and to promote and accelerate deployment of fiber to the home and the resulting quality of life enhancements such networks make possible.  The Council organizes North America’s largest annual FTTH event, the FTTH Conference & Expo, which will be held September 26 – 30, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.   More information about the Council can be found at www.ftthcouncil.org.
