ChannelCloud UK/Ireland Joins the Cloud Industry Forum

– Recent entrant to UK market joins growing channel presence in industry body-

ChannelCloud UK/Ireland has become the latest company to join the Cloud Industry Forum, the body established to promote trust, security and transparency within the sector.

In addition, ChannelCloud UK/Ireland has already started the process of becoming a self certified service provider, embracing the Code of Practice in the coming months.

ChannelCloud, established ten years ago in the United States, launched in the UK and Ireland in January 2011 and is rapidly making its presence felt in the Cloud arena.

ChannelCloud UK/Ireland has recognised the need for a comprehensive cloud solution, designed by the channel for the channel, in both the UK and Ireland. It offers an all inclusive comprehensive end-to-end managed cloud solution for MSP/VARs and their clients in turn.  The company has rapidly built a reputation for delivering not only the technology and the platform for its clients, but the training and the tools to enable the transition to the Cloud.

Paul Byrne, CEO, ChannelCloud UK/Ireland, stated: “It is an integral part of our strategy that we build a federation of cloud based partners who share our vision for a new, truly comprehensive method of delivering IT services to clients. This is a view that we have in common with the Cloud Industry Forum, one based on building trust and transparency throughout the market.  Joining the Forum was therefore a logical step in building our presence and promoting our vision here in the UK.”

Andy Burton, Chairman of the Cloud Industry Forum, added: “We recently announced the findings of a comprehensive research project into the opportunity the cloud presents to the channel. The findings of this research indicate that the IT channel is in fact evolving quickly in pursuit of the cloud opportunity as a key part of its value proposition, intending to bring real value to its customer base in turn. We welcome ChannelCloud as one such company seeking to support this new business model and help to drive standards and best practice across the cloud industry,”

“There is a tremendous opportunity for the IT channel to provide sound guidance, support and services to their customers and the Cloud Industry Forum Membership is growing to reflect this and to provide consistent and clear advice through the supply chain,” concluded Andy.

One that provides real end-to-end solutions so clients can work on their core business strengths and forget about the technology that makes that work possible.

About the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF)

The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) was established in direct response to the evolving supply models for the delivery of software and IT services that has expanded well beyond the traditional on-premise method to one that now embraces hosted and/or, pay-as-you-use Cloud solutions.

CIF’s purpose is twofold: To drive a common and public level of transparency about the capability, substance and best practices of online Service Providers (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Web hosting providers etc) through a process of self-certification to a Code of Practice.  Second, this Code of Practice, and the use of the related Certification Mark on participant’s web sites, provides comfort and promotes trust to businesses and individuals wishing to leverage the commercial, financial and agile operations capabilities that the Cloud based and hosted solutions can offer.  CIF is ensuring the integrity and governance of the self-certification process through regular random audits as well as investigating complaints from parties that challenge any specific participants self-certification status.

Our ambition is to bring business consumers and suppliers of Cloud and Hosted Services closer together in a trusted, sustainable and rewarding ecosystem.
