Chunghwa Telecom Strategically invested in CQi Energy Infocom Inc., moving the iEN Energy cloud service partnership into another level

Taipei, Taiwan, August 04, 2010CQi Energy Infocom Inc. – A leading Energy Efficiency Solution Provider, has worked with Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. Since 2007 to develop iEN (Intelligent Environment Service Network). Using ICT technology, both parties jointly develop Cloud Services to reduce global warming and carbon emission.

At the beginning of this year, both parties have established closer relationship to continuously develop iEN extension of Cloud Services, and implement the Government policy of “Turnkey Solution ” to expand the international market. CQi strategically invited Chunghwa Telecom to invest NT$20 million in the company by increasing the capital recently. Chunghwa Telecom acquired 18% of the total shares of CQi, one Board Director, and one Supervisor.

iEN Energy Cloud Services Platform is developed by Chunghwa Telecom, and CQi develops iEN End Use Devices to build the new-generation of Building Energy Efficiency using Cloud Services. Starting with commercial buildings in the energy market, and now move into the Industrial and residential markets. iEN customers are growing rapidly due to the outstanding performance of Energy Efficiency.  Since the beginning of this year, both parties started to identify partners in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, United States, and India to expand business coverage and cooperation.
