London – 3rd November 2010 – The hunt is on to find Britain’s most inspiring smart businesses, as Cisco and Management Today launch their inaugural Business Heroes Awards.
The competition, which is made up of six categories, celebrates shining examples of the UK’s most enterprising small businesses. Categories include:
New Kid on the Block – recognises the most impressive start-ups that are under two years old
Borderless Business – celebrates UK businesses that are doing well in overseas markets
Technovators – commends UK businesses that are using technology to transform their business
Green Kings – recognises those who are doing sustainability with a difference
Mumpreneur – celebrates women juggling a successful business and a family
True Grit – champions businesses that have triumphed in the face of adversity
“Small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the economy and the most important creators of new jobs and economic wealth,” says David Critchley, Cisco UKI director of Small and Medium Enterprise. “They are also responsible for some of the most innovative business initiatives out there. So, with Business Heroes, we want to recognise UK businesses that are truly out of this world.”
Winners will be selected from across the UK, with one other businesses being selected as highly commended for each category. Finalist and winners will be profiled in a special supplement in the March edition of Management Today.
