City Lifeline Provides Colocation And Proximity Hosting For Deutsche Börse’ AlphaFlash

by david.nunes

City Lifeline, the London-based independent carrier-neutral colocation data centre, has today announced it will provide colocation services for the algo news feed AlphaFlash of Deutsche Börse – Market Data & Analytics.  Having been selected as one of three other data centres in London that are to provide access to this data feed worldwide, City Lifeline will offer access to the organisations’ existing network within close proximity of London data sources and metro-area market centres.

Working with City Lifeline this new hosting facility will give algo traders direct and high-speed access to AlphaFlash data in order to trade on London markets.  Deutsche Börse aims to make it as easy as possible for other businesses to use its algo news feed as well as to ensure the lowest latency for AlphaFlash customers.

“Deutsche Börse delivers more than 150 machine readable macroeconomic indicators directly into trading algorithms; by adding hosting alternatives such as City Lifeline, we are able to respond directly to customer demand for expansion of the proximity hosting infrastructure in Europe”, said Georg Gross, head of front office data & analytics at Deutsche Börse.

Roger Keenan, Managing Director at City Lifeline said, “Low latency and high speed of data communications are essential for the algo traders. Our central location makes that possible for them, and we are delighted that City Lifeline London colocation is contributing to the success of AlphaFlash and of Deutsche Börse.”

AlphaFlash is a joint product of Deutsche Börse, Need to Know News and Market News International (both entities of Deutsche Börse).  Colocation and proximity hosting options for AlphaFlash are also available in Chicago, New Jersey, Washington and Frankfurt.  Further data centres, such as in Asia are currently being planned.
