Clear2there’s Craig Steen to Highlight New Revenue Opportunities for Telcos at CSSA Conference

CSSA Member Companies to Learn How Video Surveillance and Storage Services Can Lead to Substantial Recurring Revenue

Oklahoma City, OK April 26 , 2012— Craig Steen, president and chief executive officer of Clear2there, a leading provider of advanced video surveillance and M2M solutions for service providers and enterprises, will be speaking at the upcoming Communications Supply Service Association (CSSA) STAR Conference in Wilmington, North Carolina. In his session, “Increase Opportunity with Video Surveillance,” scheduled for Tuesday May 1, 2012, Steen will describe the tangible revenue potential that Telcos can tap by offering video services to customers.

A provider of a broad range of video surveillance solutions that include cameras, recording systems, distribution equipment, service delivery and management, and video storage and playback products, Clear2there will use the conference to announce the availability of a cloud- and central office-based video storage solution that takes advantage of broadband and fiber connections to the customer premise that is owned and operated by the local independent Telco.

“Only the local Telco can control the ‘last mile’ to the customer premise, and since many of these drops are fiber, the bandwidth for video is plentiful,” said Steen. “When service providers talk about throttling upload and download data speeds, it is based on the cost of accessing the Internet beyond the central office. These local service providers have an extraordinary advantage in the ownership and control of the big pipe to the customer, and as long as the video doesn’t need to go beyond the central office, it doesn’t cost them one dime extra.”

Leveraging the highly flexible Viewbiquity Cloud Interface (VCI) Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platform developed by Deerfield Beach, Florida-based Viewbiquity, Clear2there’s video storage solution enables service providers to quickly enter the video business at an appropriate scale. And, with the versatility of the VCI platform, there is an almost unlimited number of sensors and devices that can be monitored and managed in addition to video equipment. This can facilitate service options ranging from agricultural enterprise (farm) monitoring and tracking to connected- or smart-home packages, all of which can increase monthly billing.

“The STAR conference provides our members a chance to network, compare notes on successes and failures, and learn about the latest technologies and solutions from innovative partners like Clear2there and Viewbiquity,” said John Brown, CSSA president and CEO. “There is a lot of interest among CSSA membership in these opportunities. We are very excited that Craig will be on hand to introduce them to a new and potentially very lucrative business.”

Clear2there will also deliver a learning lab at the conference on Monday April 30, 2012 at 3:55 p.m. In this session, attendees will be provided with practical demonstrations and information on the setup and operation of various cameras and recording solutions.
