ControlCircle Appoints New Members To Board Of Directors

London, 16th August 2010 – ControlCircle, the leading data centre and managed services provider, today announced it has appointed two new members to its board of directors.  Richard Jones takes on the newly-created role of chairman and Bill Joss joins as non-executive director.  These additions to the board of directors strengthen the leadership team at ControlCircle following its £6 million growth capital investment by venture capital firm Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) as the firm prepares for aggressive growth into new global territories.

Bill Joss, non-executive director, said:  “I am delighted to have been asked to join the board of this, the most dynamic and visionary of datacentre operations in the UK and, in the near future, globally. I am deeply impressed by what the founding team has achieved and look forward to contributing to the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Richard is chairman at ControlCircle and non-executive director at BuyingTeam as well as deputy chairman at the Aimselect Group. His career has taken him through 20 years in technology, with IBM as commercial director and DEC, where he was country manager. He served in the business services sector for 15 years as partner of Andersen Consulting (Accenture), (http://www.accenture.com/Global/Research_and_Insights/By_Subject/Technology_Consulting/Infrastructure-Consulting/Data-Center-Technology-and-Operations/default.htm)  being a core team member of a California based start-up called Exult from 2000 onwards. Exult was sold by means of a merger for $670m to Hewitt of Chicago in 2004.

In the course of his management career, he has served on boards of IBM Financial Services, Andersen Consulting Properties, Digital, Exult and Hewitt – in UK, Ireland, Netherlands, and India.

Bill is appointed a non-executive director of ControlCircle and will assist in the business development, sales and marketing functions within the company.  Bill’s 30 year career has included roles in both private and quoted technology and services businesses. He is a business development and sales management specialist with extensive international experience of both multinational organisations and start-up businesses in which he has been heavily involved in managing strong organic growth, fundraisings, merger and acquisition activity, and flotations.

Bill’s executive career started with Racal Group and then Case Communications where he was one of a small early stage team which built the business to market leadership and full Stock Exchange listing in 6 years. Bill then ran the International division of Gandalf Technologies of Canada before joining a small “MBO” business – Compel plc, in which as group business development director he drove revenues in 8 years from £10M to £320M and participated in another full Stock Exchange listing. During his time at Compel Group Bill was instrumental in its transition from hardware supplier to a full services/outsourcing supplier with 1400 staff, 600 of whom were located on customer sites. In the past 20 years Bill has led or participated in 15 acquisitions, mergers or exits for institutional shareholders.

Since 2000 Bill has held several non executive director and chairman roles and currently sits on the board of Hypertec Ltd, Equisys plc, Cats Solutions Group Ltd and ASECO Europe.

ControlCircle was founded ten years ago and has achieved consistent growth of 65% per year with an annual turnover of £10 million. The firm has been listed as a Sunday Times Fast Track 100 company and was recently awarded the Best Companies Two Star accreditation.
