Cornerstone OnDemand Recognised as an Integrated Talent Management Software Leader in Europe in IDC MarketScape

LONDON – 07 October 2013 – Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD), a global leader in cloud-based talent management software solutions, has been recognised as a “Leader” in Integrated Talent Management (ITM) by analyst house International Data Corporation (IDC). The study, IDC MarketScape: Western Europe Integrated Talent Management 2013 Vendor Analysis, assessed 12 software vendors in the ITM market in Europe, measuring qualities including functionality, strengths and weaknesses.

Vincent Belliveau, senior VP & general manager EMEA, Cornerstone OnDemand, said “We’re thrilled to be named as a leader in talent management by IDC’s MarketScape report. We’ve seen great momentum in EMEA during the last 12 months, particularly with customers wins including Western Union, Eroski and Pandora, and have focused on developing solutions to address challenges faced by customers today. Consequently, it is pleasing to receive recognition from IDC highlighting the strength of our offering and our focus on redefining the way people work.”

Inclusion in the study required vendors to have a European customer base of at least 250,000 users and a portfolio covering at least four ITM areas – Learning, Performance, Recruiting and Extended Enterprise. Cornerstone was positioned as a Leader in the MarketScape report based on its strong functional capabilities, achieving a very high score in depth of capability of individual modules, true multitenant SaaS for scalability and solid customer references.

Bo Lykkegaard, research director, European Enterprise Applications, IDC, said “Although the integrated talent management market is maturing with all vendors embracing SaaS delivery and subscription pricing, new points of differentiation are emerging. Among these new areas of differentiation, we find consumer-like mobile user experiences, employee analytics, and social/collaborative capabilities. These areas have significant potential for European organisations as they are keen to leverage these technologies to further engage and retain employees.”

Key findings from IDC’s MarketScape: Western Europe Integrated Talent Management 2013 Vendor Analysis include:

·         Talent management buyers should consider full talent management coverage when selecting a new solution, even if starting in one particular area. IDC has identified many data and process handovers between the various talent management areas and European HR decision makers have a strong focus on end-to-end HR processes.

·         Talent management buyers should, if possible, aim for adopted best practices and standard functionality, and configure rather than customise the solution. One of the key messages from our discussions with HR executives is the importance of an up-to-date platform with limited or no custom code to maintain.

·         It is vital for talent management buyers in Europe to request relevant European references. Many vendors pitch state-of-the-art talent management platforms, but some have very limited adoption in Europe. Organisations buying solutions with very few customer references should seek clear guarantees about vendor support and price discounts.

Cornerstone is also named a “Leader” in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Integrated Talent Management 2013 Vendor Analysis, as well as a “Leader” in performance and learning in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Performance in Integrated Talent Management 2013 Vendor Analysis, and IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Learning Management in Integrated Talent Management 2012 Vendor Analysis.

About IDC MarketScapes

The IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of IT, telecommunications, or industry-specific suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilises a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. IDC MarketScapes provide a clear framework in which the product and service offerings, capabilities and strategies, and current and future market success factors of IT, telecommunications, or industry-specific vendors can be meaningfully compared. The framework also provides technology buyers with a transparent foundation to enable companies to independently compare the strengths and weaknesses of current and prospective vendors.
