Cross-Industry Experts To Give Free Advice On Intelligent Buildings And Network Convergence

Global network infrastructure specialist Siemon is bringing together a team of experts from companies in the intelligent buildings arena to deliver a unique seminar entitled “ConvergeIT: Driving Green and Intelligent Buildings”, focusing on building design and the benefits of converged network infrastructure.

Siemon’s partners for this seminar include Arup, Alcatel Lucent, Samsung and Paxton Access.

A limited number of free places for the UK seminar – which will be held at  the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London on the morning of Tuesday 25th October 2011 – are available by registering at  http://turt.co/siemonevents

According to Dan Vout, marketing manager EMEA with Siemon (http://turt.co/tsc0615x), “In today’s competitive environment, massive cost savings are available from infrastructure convergence, enterprises can no longer afford to continue to deploy multiple building-wide networks when one correctly designed structured cabling system will give superior performance with a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

“For this unique event, we’re bringing together experts from all aspects of the intelligent building sector to give delegates a true understanding of the issues involved and the savings available from convergence.”

Who should attend? The seminar is suitable for CIOs, CTOs, facilities professionals, IT and networking professionals, consultants (facilities, IT and M&E) and specifying architects.

The seminar, which runs from 9am to 12.30pm plus lunch, will include:

·         Chris Parry of Samsung: Analogue, IP and HD CCTV technology explained

·         Valerie Maguire of Siemon: Converged Cabling: Data, Video, BAS and Beyond

  • Mani Manivannan of Arup: Designing Next Generation Buildings; the Impact of Convergence

  • Tom Cowling of Paxton Access: Access Control in an IP Connected World

  • Craig Hoy of Alcatel Lucent: Convergence at the Desktop

The expert speakers will, between them, cover burning issues including the converged network’s role in cutting energy costs, CAPEX and OPEX savings, creating greener smarter buildings and why a converged network should be designed in early as a “building service” at the same time as electricity, water and drainage.

The Converged Infrastructure for Intelligent Buildings seminar is being held at 9:00am until 12.30pm followed by a networking lunch on Tuesday 25th October 2011 at RIBA, the Royal Institute of British Architects, Portland Place, London. All attendees will receive literature packs including the speaker resource materials. To register or to download the full program please visit: http://turt.co/siemonevents
