Cryptzone enters new market with the acquisition of NETconsent

Gothenburg, 30th of November 2010

Cryptzone Group today announced the acquisition of UK based NETconsent, a leading provider of policy management software. This acquisition marks Cryptzone Group’s entry into a new sector of the IT Security market and is a further step in its strategy and commitment to delivering best-of-breed data protection solutions to corporate and commercial customers.

Cryptzone has seen a growing demand from customers for an efficient approach to policy management, which addresses the human factors in information security. Organizations are recognizing that technical controls alone do not provide a complete security model. NETconsent is the developer and vendor of a proven policy management solution. With more than 180,000 NETconsent licenses sold to customers within both the public and private sectors, including many National Health Service trusts, Arsenal Football Club and Virgin Media, NETconsent leads the UK market for policy management software. 15% of Local Authorities in the United Kingdom have chosen NETconsent. This practical system instills user awareness and a greater understanding of the security policies and technical controls in place, which leads people to modify their behavior and attitude towards data security. NETconsent complements Cryptzone Group’s product portfolio to provide businesses worldwide with the optimal solution to meet all their security needs.

“NETconsent adds an extremely important building block to Cryptzone Group’s security platform and is an essential part of our planned expansion strategy. We are very excited to welcome them into the Group.” says Cryptzone Group CEO, Peter Davin “An increasing number of organizations are turning to automated policy management software to raise standards of policy compliance. We have looked extensively for the best technologies that will allow us to expand our current product offerings and to provide the best service we can to our existing and new customers. We were impressed by the high quality and innovative technology that NETconsent provides and immediately saw the benefit of joining forces.”

NETconsent’s unique Policy Enforcement Point (PEP) technologies enable organizations to present people with policies and associated documentation at the point of use; when they most need reminding of their responsibilities. There are obvious integration opportunities with Cryptzone Group’s existing security products to provide comprehensive data protection.

“Becoming part of the Cryptzone Group presents a great opportunity for NETconsent to become global brand leaders in policy management,” said Dominic Saunders, COO of NETconsent.  “The synergy between Cryptzone Group’s existing portfolio and NETconsent will create a dynamic collaboration with extensive integration opportunities, which will better address the needs of our customers and deliver added value to a world-wide partner network. A shared commitment to quality and outstanding customer service will drive projected sales growth throughout 2011.”

Dominic Saunders brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise accumulated within the IT security industry since 1990. He joins the Cryptzone Group management team as SVP Sales NETconsent Business Unit, however will continue to be based at the NETconsent Headquarters in Fleet, Hampshire, UK. This office will become the new UK & Ireland Headquarters for the Cryptzone Group.

NETconsent will be officially incorporated into the Cryptzone Group from the 30th of November and immediately start contributing to positive earnings and cash flow. The acquisition was financed through a cash payment and directed share issue.
