Cummins Power Generation evolves its rental generator set product line with four new mobile high-reliability models

New generator sets target the needs of rental fleet owners

MANSTON, Kent, England (January 23, 2013) — Cummins Power Generation a global leader in providing innovative solutions for any power need, today announces the launch of four new mobile generator sets specifically designed for rental applications. The launch represents the first new offering to the European local hire market since Cummins redressed its rental vision, products and services to closely align with the specific and ongoing needs of rental fleet owners. Ranging from 150-300 kVA, the new models benefit from robust engineering and include the highly reliable Cummins QSL9 and QSB7 diesel engines to offer tough, dependable power to rental fleet owners. Supplied as pre-integrated systems, these versatile new models are ideally suited for construction, industrial and events applications.

The new additions strengthen Cummins Power Generation’s position as a leading name in the rental market. Available in 150, 200, 250 and 300 kVA configurations, the generator sets have been designed by Cummins’ new team of specialist rental engineers and mark the first step towards Cummins’ long-term vision for the rental sector. All four new models benefit from Cummins made key components supplied as a pre-integrated system. This increases maintenance efficiency as any potential issues for the engine, alternator or control system can be resolved by a single engineer.

Global service and support

All Cummins Power Generation products are backed by an extensive service network of factory-trained technicians to provide both scheduled maintenance and emergency service. In addition, Cummins global stocking plan ensures that warehouses and service vehicles are fully equipped with parts whenever and wherever they are needed.

Specially tailored to the rental sector

A wide range of features make the new models ideal for rental applications. These include:

– Integrated structural shell with zinc core canopy for corrosion protection

– Integral lifting frame and fork lift pockets

– Flexible power receptacles with 125 A, 63 A, 32 A and 16 A options

– 4-pole main circuit breaker

– Controller offering paralleling capability with genset-to-genset and genset-to-utility connections

– Heavy-duty air and fuel filters

– Electronic engine that meets EU Stage IIIA emission standards

– 24-hour fuel tank (at 75% prime power load)

– Quick-release fuel couplings

– Easy-to-operate customer interface

Proven leadership

Cummins Power Generation is known for its leadership in the world power supply industry, which includes an impressive track record for technological innovations that meet the world’s fast-changing emissions requirements.

In addition, Cummins engines, alternators, controllers, user-friendly integration systems and other components have been proven in multiple applications in the field.
