Cable & Wireless Communications’ (CWC) Jersey business has won a US$3.5m contract to create a global Wide Area Network (WAN) for legal firm, Ogier.
Ogier, which is headquartered in Jersey, chose CWC for this project because it can deliver almost all of the connections required without needing to work with partner companies. CWC operates businesses across four continents. The global WAN will connect Ogier offices in Jersey, Guernsey, London, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Hong Kong.
Graham Hughes, Chief Executive of CWC in Jersey, said:
“We are delighted to have been selected by Ogier. It is a recognition that our team in the Channel Islands can deliver a global network for corporate customers utilising Cable & Wireless Communications’ global reach.”
Neil Clark, Group IT Director, Ogier, said:
“We were really impressed by the resilience and reach of CWC’s global network which extends to almost all of the locations in which we operate. Looking forward, many of the jurisdictions in which we could find ourselves in the future are also on the CWC network, so we’ll be able to continue operating with one single partner as Ogier grows.”
The project to install the network will be conducted over three phases, and is expected to be completed by the end of this financial year.
