Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia to Open the SCTE Sixth Balkan Broadband Conference and Exhibition

Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia to Open the SCTE™ Sixth Balkan Broadband Conference and Exhibition 

HERTFORDSHIRE, U.K. — 21 August 2014 — SCTE™, the Society for Broadband Professionals, is delighted to confirm that Rasim Ljajić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Serbia, will deliver the opening presentation at the Society’s sixth Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition in Belgrade, Serbia on 2 October 2014. His presentation will focus on the current broadband environment in Serbia. Keynote presentations from Andrija Bednarik, President, PUKOS (Business Association of Cable Operators of Serbia); Dr. Aleksandra Gagic, Head of Unit for Cable Access Network Planning and Development, Telekom Srbija; and Goran Poposki, President, South East Europe Broadband Council (SEEBC) will follow. The Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition will take place at the Holiday Inn in Belgrade. The event is being hosted in cooperation with PUKOS and is also supported by SEEBC. During the event, attendees will have access to top-level keynote presentations and technology demonstrations. The schedule includes a morning conference with keynote presentations from high-level officials and Balkan cable operators on broadband operations and strategy. Following lunch, attendees can learn about innovative new technologies from the leading vendors in the broadband and cable industry. 

“The SCTE has developed a strong presence in the Balkans, with more than 400 visitors and 30 exhibitors attending our 2012 conference and exhibition in Serbia. We look forward to bringing quality training and networking to the region in October,” said Dr. Roger Blakeway, President, SCTE.
