Digi International and Smart Box to Be Recognized at
France-Korean Trade Conference

PARIS, June 02, 2016 – Digi International® (NASDAQ: DGII, www.digi.com), a leading global provider of mission-critical machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT connectivity products and services, and SmartBox, an innovative company providing unmanned delivery systems, announced that the companies will be recognized today at a conference that focuses on France-Korea business partnerships. The event is hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and will take place at the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel.

SmartBox offers benefits over traditional kiosk systems in cost, convenience, maintenance, management, and protection. Using Digi’s wireless XBee modules and gateways, SmartBox has developed a smart locker solution that serve as unmanned delivery destinations or traditional lockers. More than 3,000 SmartBox lockers have been installed in apartments, dormitories, public offices, office buildings, and subway stations across South Korea.

When a consumer orders an item online, one of the delivery methods that can be selected is SmartBox as a delivery destination. A SmartCode is sent to the buyer, who then can easily pick up the package at the SmartBox location by entering the SmartCode provided. As a traditional locker, individuals can use their smartphone to reserve a locker and a SmartCode to open and close the locker. Digi XBee modules and gateways provide the wireless connection that makes these communications possible.

This year commemorates Korea’s and France’s 130th diplomatic anniversary, and the event will be attended by South Korean President, Park Geun-hye and other dignitaries which will recognize cooperative development and commercialization efforts, such as those between Digi International’s Paris facility and the Korean-based SmartBox. Accepting recognition will be Frederic Luu, Digi vice president of international sales and Yeryong Ra, SmartBox CEO.
