DIGITAL TV LABS BECOMES OFFICIAL DOLBY LICENSEE TO PROVIDE STREAMLINED
CERTIFICATION SERVICES FOR CE MANUFACTURERS
Amsterdam, IBC – Amsterdam, IBC, Stand no. 2.C30– 7th September 2012: Digital TV Labs, providers of specialised receiver conformance products, services and consultancy, has today announced that it has become an official licensee of Dolby Laboratories.
The licence enables Digital TV Labs to offer CE manufacturers and middleware vendors a new streamlined service for Dolby pre-testing. In addition, manufacturers will have access to a dedicated team of technical experts who will host and aid in the debugging of devices, prior to Dolby submission. This will greatly widen the availability of specialised technical services available to manufacturers seeking to get devices to market.
The new service offering follows a history of collaboration projects between the two companies who have already worked on emerging technologies such as HbbTV, MPEG-DASH and TNT2.0.
Keith Potter, Digital TV Labs CEO, says, “We are providing testing, hosting and debugging services in both our UK and Hong Kong facilities in collaboration with Dolby. Manufacturers will benefit from a reduced time-to-market as well as the use of services that do not require them to use their time or resources.
