DIMOCO achieves 47% more mTAN transactions

Modern transaction processing ensures greater security for online banking

Brunn am Gebirge (Austria), 21 January 2013 – Mobile Messaging and payment provider DIMOCO http://www.dimoco.eu has increased its mobile TAN transactions by 47 percent. This increase was achieved in the first half of 2012 as compared with the same period in 2011, and underscores the increasing popularity of mTAN transactions. The modern processing method ensures tighter security for online banking. To conduct their transactions, consumers are sent a personal, time-limited and one-time-valid code to their cell phones and use this code for authentication on the Web.

„Payment transactions must be safe, reliable and fast,“ explains Gerald Tauchner, CEO of DIMOCO, adding:  „We are happy to be able to support financial institutes with our mTAN product. In the second half-year 2012 almost twice as many mTANs were sent via our infrastructure.“

47% more mTAN Transactions

DIMOCO, the European mobile messaging and payment provider, has achieved a 47 percent increase in mTAN transactions. The comparison was made based on data from the 2nd half-year of 2011 and 2012, and demonstrates a clear trend towards secure two-way authentication in the financial sector.

Modern transactions for more online banking security

Web-based applications in the financial sector require secure 2-way authentications. Using the mTAN service, consumers request the mTAN via the online banking website, receive it promptly via text message on their cell phone and then enter the code for their transaction on the Web. The mTAN consists of a time-limited code that can only be used once.

DIMOCO successful with mobile messaging sector specialization

Mobile TANs for banks, weather alerts by text message for insurance companies or alarm texts for technical system providers – DIMOCO processes bulk text messaging transactions for all types of companies. Depending on the requirements, these are sent via the proprietary application and a corresponding connection to DIMOCO’s infrastructure or via the DIMOCO web-tool. In addition, the mobile messaging products are tailored to meet the specific requirements of sectors such as banking, insurance and transport. Criteria such as high transmission and throughput rates, excellent delivery quality, good conditions and a need for high performance routes as well as in-time provisioning of alternative delivery routes are taken for granted.
