TAF mobile wins “mobile ticketing” tender for Magdeburg transport services
Jena (Germany), September 11, 2015 – DIMOCO company TAF mobile GmbH, the Jena-based IT company specialized in local public transport, has been awarded the contract to develop and operate the “easy.GO” mobile ticketing service by Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH & Co. KG (MVB). The objective is to connect the new Magdeburg transport area to the existing version of the tried-and-tested easy.GO local public transport app by the end of the year as an additional sales channel for Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe. Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV), Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) and Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) have already been integrated.
“We are delighted that a further transport company in central Germany is providing easy.GO for its customers,” says TAF Managing Director Jörg Wagner. “MVB is an important customer when it comes to the further development of a travel chain with comprehensive coverage for its passengers in Germany. We will contribute our expertise by targeting our efforts on complex software projects and continue to expand our mobile service platform with intermodal offers.”
Birgit Münster-Rendel, MVB’s Managing Director, adds: “The digitalization of the society is also a major topic for our transport company. In particular, we want those who use our services occasionally to be able to purchase a ticket using easy.GO directly when they obtain timetable information. Potential passengers welcome the genuine added value, as no small change or registration is required, because the ticket can be conveniently charged to their own mobile phone account. With easy.GO we are opening up a new and modern sales channel for our ticketing.”
