EBS EXPANDS WITH EPG IMAGE TEAM PROVIDING QUALITY IMAGES AND ANNOUNCES

AMC NETWORKS INTERNATIONAL – UK AS FIRST CUSTOMER

Baldock, UK – 26th January 2016EBS, the leading full-service provider of EPG data for platforms and channels worldwide, has announced that it has expanded with the formation of an image team and is creating a comprehensive EPG image library for existing and future clients. EBS is answering the needs of platforms, channels and content owners worldwide that require high-quality programme images that reflect the expectations of today’s viewers across multiple channels and platforms.

The first client to use EBS’ new image resource is AMC Networks International – UK. EBS is now supplying images for all of AMCNI – UK’s channel brands including AMC, CBS Reality, CBS Action and Sundance Channel. Images are a key element of the EPG enticing viewers by providing an important visual element to the programme or series.

The EBS library will provide quality images that are rights-approved for appropriate territories and that allow channels to maintain editorial control with images that are associated with their brand. Platforms including Sky now stipulate images as part of their channels’ EPG data requirements and this is likely to become a standard requirement for platforms globally.

Keith Bedford EBS’ Managing Director explains, “Channels have to deal with increasing amounts of images in different sizes and formats to satisfy the number of platforms that require them. It’s not unusual for a channel to have to produce between 40 and 50 images per programme. This expansion allows us to provide a dedicated, high-quality image resource that significantly simplifies this process.”
